So…I was taking my very needed bath last night and I started looking at shoes, wedding shoes in specific. Even though ever since 2008 when the whole world saw and fell in love with Carries blue, satin, Manolo shoes, I knew those would be the ones I wanted to say “I do” in. Now, fast forward 9 years, and these shoes have become sooo popular amongst brides. So many have worn them and said their perfect vows in them. That they left the rest of the girls feeling like they’re being too “cliche” if they wear their dream shoes since 2008, like me, to their wedding. I mean ’em I right? ’em I the only one that feels this way?! I know I’m not the only one, and I know I’m not the only soon-to-be-bride that’s contemplating these picture perfect “something blue” shoes. But let me tell you why I think it’s perfectly frknnn acceptable still ’till this day to wear them to your wedding.
Well first off it’s YOUR wedding and unless someone else is buying your wedding shoes, guess what?! You can wear whatever the heck you feel like wearing. Who cares if 100000000000 brides have worn these shoes! Bring on the criticism. (:
Second and really the point I wanted to make, lol hello rambling on, is that for the girls that have watched every single episode about 100 times and then some…you know exactly what these shoes symbolize. If you have no idea, let me tell you. They symbolize happiness, it’s the final period to this love story that’s been through so much, up’s and down’s maybe like your own love story. Yes, very much like Cinderella, duh! So when you ask yourself “‘Em I being too cliche for wanting to wear these blue shoes to my wedding day?” I personally think, No! Also, if you really want to wear these pretties and are so obsessed with them it’s because you’ve watched Sex and the City with your best friend!
I remember watching Sex and the City with my best friend. She had bought all 6 seasons even after we had watched every single episode already twice over, I’m sure. Yet we dedicated an entire summer and watched all 6 season from start to finish. We made so many fun memories throughout that that’s when a series goes far beyond being just a “dumb series” your watching. And I think this goes for any series or movies, for example, Harry Potter, Star Wars, yes people do have themed weddings on this! Coming back to the topic lol. You’ve curated so many wonderful memories that when you look at an item all of those warm feelings make you smile and they bring you back to how amazing life can be sometimes. So why not have something significant on your wedding day. One of the most important days of your life. Why not have that special “something” that you can wear or incorporate in your wedding day that can make you smile and sum up your happy ending!
Also fun fact: William HAS watched the ENTIRE series with me plus both movies. So at this point, how couldn’t I marry him! Shout out to the best fiancé ever!
What are your thoughts on this topic? I would love to read what you think if anyone is a bride to be.
